Ferret Domesticated breed of albino polecat , common to old world. In Europe it was used for hunting rats, mice, and rabbits. The black footed or American ferret in the Great Plains and is extremely rare. It is the largest North American weasel , been 2 ft. long, with brown markings, a mask like band across the eyes, and a black tipped tail, with black feet.
