Mole Small burrowing carnivorous mammal, native to Europe, Asia, and North America. Moles are soft, with thick brown or gray fur with pointed muzzles; many of the species have small weak eyes, that are only capable of seeing light from dark the absence of external ears; and powerful, muscular forelegs equipped with strong digging claws.
They dig tunnels just under the ground, from which they prey on the worms and insects. For living, wintering and nesting they have deeper burrows . Mole runways can be seen in fields, gardens, and lawns, leaving ridges and mounds on the surface. The mall is one of the strongest animals for its size. It does not survive in captivity. |
