Skunk This mammal lives in North America; from North Mexico, United States, to Canada. It is carnivorous, and is nocturnal belonging to the weasel family. The Common or striped skunk has black fur with two white stripes on the back. There length is around 2 ft. long including their bushy tail. Its ability to spray a offensive older protected against enemies.
In the northern climates the animal hibernates. In the southeast and central United States, Mexico, and Central America is the small, slender spotted skunk which has several white stripes or lines and spots. Its fur has less value than that of the striped skunk. Finally the hog-nosed skunk which ranges from Southwest United States and through most of South America. |
