Tarpan Wild horse originally from Central Asia, and has not descended from tame horses. Tarpans are found in large herds of five or more, each heard led by a stallion . Their size is smaller and than in a domestic horse, and is dun in color , with a brown mane and tail. The head is large, with a bulging forehead the mane is short and erect. Often found in zoological Gardens , they breed freely in captivity, and Colts have been tamed. During the Paleolithic period many of the cave wall drawings resemble that of the tarpan .
